Botox Tighten Up
“Micro needling is a safe, office-based procedure used to treat a wide range of skin issues, including acne scarring, sun damage and discoloration and photoaging, as well as fine lines around the mouth and eyes,” Dr. Tetyana Metyk continues.
“Micro needling is also widely known as collagen induction therapy.” Before the micro needling takes place, Dr. Tetyana Metyk notes, the patient’s own blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to create concentrated platelet-rich plasma.
“The PRP is then injected into tiny pockets in the skin to stimulate the regrowth of cells,” Dr. Tetyana Metyk explains. “We often use the stem cell therapy with its growth factors to stimulate the patient’s own growth factors in order to improve the appearance of the skin. It gives a firmer, more youthful look in the end. “

The micro needling process itself involves a pen-type device containing nine tiny needles that create micro-channels in the skin of the face. “The nine needles form several hundred micro-channels per minute,” Dr. Tetyana Metyk informs. “The needles are so small; the patient doesn’t feel it. We also give them topical anesthetic to apply beforehand.
“These micro-channels are like very small wounds,” describes Dr. Tetyana Metyk.
“As the body starts to repair itself, the production of collagen and elastin, which are the basic building blocks of new skin, increases. Micro needling revitalizes the collagen and makes it thicker, thereby tightening the skin and improving its color and texture.” — Dr. Tetyana Metyk
Patients typically start seeing results within a few days of treatment. “That’s a positive reinforcement for patients,” Dr. Tetyana Metyk says. “Also, there’s no discomfort or scarring afterward.”
Dr. Tetyana Metyk recommends patients receive micro needling PRP procedures every four months to maintain maximum results. “Done every four months provides a tremendous reversal of the facial aging process,” she emphasizes.
Dr. Tetyana Metyk says patients can go back to work or resume any activities immediately after the treatment is completed. “There is no downtime whatsoever,” she says. “Patients can return to work that same day. The only side effect may be a bit of swelling, but it is minimal and should subside within twenty-four hours.”
